Registered Midwives are primary care providers. We provide comprehensive care for women throughout normal pregnancy, labour and birth and for both women and their babies for 6 weeks following the birth. Midwifery care is fully funded by the Ministry of Health. No referral is needed. Please call for further information.
When will I see my midwife?
Prenatal visits are once a month until 28 weeks, then every two weeks until 36 weeks, and after that every week until the baby is born. These visits are at our clinic. After the baby is born, your midwife comes to see you at home four times in the first two weeks. You come back to the clinic three weeks after the birth, and again for your final visit at six weeks.
Most visits are about 45 minutes long.
